Baroness Fairhead Leads Speaker Line-Up At International Maritime Forum.

Baroness Fairhead, Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion at the Department for International Trade, will lead debate on the importance of the Northern Maritime Powerhouse at a top-level maritime conference being held as part of the International Business Festival (IBF) in Liverpool.

IBF, which opens tomorrow and runs until June 28th, celebrates and supports business, through conferences, seminars and bespoke meetings. More than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival.

Baroness Fairhead joins Lord Prescott at the head of a top quality line-up of speakers at The International Maritime Forum, organised by Shipping Innovation, creator of London International Shipping Week. The conference, taking place on June 21st, is designed to spark lively debate among key ports, shippers and supply chain leaders.

Lord Prescott and Baroness Fairhead will both discuss how the Northern Maritime Powerhouse impacts the UK’s trade growth goals and the crucial part it plays in driving trade prosperity to the UK.

The conference, which will be titled: The Northern Maritime Powerhouse: Driving global trade post-Brexit, will look at how digitalisation and increased connectivity can enhance processes and drive innovation to boost global trade. It will also discuss streamlining shipping and port operations to the lasting benefit of the end-users as well as the importers and exporters.

The packed conference programme will form part of the IBF’s Global Logistics and Shipping Day. Delegates will be able to meet with future partners, buyers and investors to develop profitable and meaningful relationship.

Another key session during the maritime conference will focus on why maritime clusters have become so important, and will include presentations from Dick Welsh, Director at the Isle of Man Registry; Chris Shirling-Rooke, CEO, Mersey Maritime; Mark O’ Reily, CEO & Chairman of Team Humber Marine Alliance and Colin Lavelle, Legal Director at Hill Dickinson Liverpool.

Tickets are £125 which includes a light lunch and refreshments. They also include a complimentary festival pass which provides access to all nine days of the International Business Festival.
