BluJay Solutions Receives PEPPOL Compliance Accreditation.

17 September, 19

BluJay Solutions, a leading provider of supply chain software and services powered by the world’s first Global Trade Network, today announced its accreditation as a Certified PEPPOL Access Point software provider.

The accreditation enables customers using BluJay’s MessageBroker EDI/B2B technology to become a supplier to the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK and other government organisations across Europe where PEPPOL is a requirement.

“Our MessageBroker customer community includes many of the top retailers and companies in the UK. We’re pleased to offer them the added value of PEPPOL compliance and a standardized connection to supply the NHS and other government organisations, which opens new business opportunities to them,” said Sian Hopwood, Senior Vice President, B2B at BluJay. “In addition to being a requirement, the PEPPOL standards also help companies realise greater efficiencies, error reduction, and cost savings.”

PEPPOL is the Pan European Public Procurement Online network that enables government organisations and private companies to exchange electronic trading documents over an interoperable, European-wide network. PEPPOL enables the connection of different eProcurement systems by establishing a set of common business processes and technical standards. This provides an interoperable and secure network connecting all Access Points using the same electronic messaging protocol and formats and applying digital signature technologies to secure message content.

Once connected to the PEPPOL eDelivery Network (via a PEPPOL Access Point), public agencies and private enterprises can quickly and easily reach any other trading partner, also using PEPPOL. Currently, there are OpenPEPPOL members in 32 countries, with Certified Access Points in 22 European countries plus Canada and USA, according to PEPPOL’s website.

BluJay has been a member of PEPPOL for a number of years, but recently received its accreditation as a Certified Provider PEPPOL Access Point, under the OpenPEPPOL authority. The UK Department of Health, in its eProcurement strategy for the NHS, has set forth deadlines for all suppliers, dependent on the products and services that they provide, by which time they need to be ready to manage their electronic ordering and invoicing using PEPPOL standards. There is no requirement for suppliers to adopt EDI from a specific vendor, and so the BluJay PEPPOL accreditation will help ensure that suppliers can make the very simple transition required in order to continue to trade with the NHS, without the need to change EDI providers.

BluJay’s MessageBroker EDI/B2B solution gives businesses the ability to exchange essential business information with trading partners including customers and suppliers. The collaborative enterprise solution is used by companies such as Brakes, Heineken, Nisa, Selfridges, and Dunelm to connect, convert, and control a variety of data in any format through any communication channel, reducing the costs associated with electronic transaction processing.
