Carousel Launches New Service And Technology Platform – ‘Gateway’.

28 May, 19

Carousel – the service-logistics specialist for high-performance industries – has announced the launch of its new service and technology platform.

Gateway, is Carousel’s proprietary technology platform, built to help service-focused industries gain the competitive edge in a hyper-connected age of manufacturing.

The new platform is being rolled out to all Carousel clients, consolidating the company’s position on the continent, just weeks after it announced its acquisition of time-critical logistics company BDA Logistics Innovation. Gateway plays a critical part in Carousel’s continued focus on becoming the number one choice for aftermarket and service logistics, across Europe.

What is Gateway?

Gateway is a custom-built data-exchange that connects all stakeholders, facilitating the free flow of information, and the synchronised handling and sharing of data between parties. It fuses together the physical infrastructure of an aftermarket solution, with digital information from across a value chain; giving complete visibility and control, in one easy portal.

Designed with the end user in mind, Gateway enables smart, quantitative decisions – based on data, rather than gut-instinct – to improve user-experience and process efficiencies and facilitate agile end-to-end solutions.

Direct ERP integration has been a key development focus for Carousel, adding transparency and control for clients seeking high-performance service solutions for their aftermarket business. With a complete control-tower view, Gateways helps OEMs make sense of their data, providing milestone data to improve the end-to-end economics of their logistics. By optimising processes Carousel’s Gateway platform can guarantee the smooth flow of parts and products.

Making data and analytics readily available

Gateway holds and exchanges real-time data from all internal and external stakeholders in a value chain, within one central hub. Designed to easily and seamlessly interface with existing and emerging technologies, it provides complete transparency, to enable proactive decisions.

Key features:

• Highly configurable, cloud-based control tower

· Interfaces with any data source via open API

· Supports ERP manufacturing supply chain platforms

· Reporting and analytics on demand

· Configurable engineer, technician, dealer or customer apps

· Extensive management information

• Comprehensive tracking and time stamping

• Pre-configured to over 200 carriers with direct label printing

• Outcome monitoring and KPI reporting

• Real time routing and connected navigation

• Predicative logistics management.

Carousel group CEO, Graham Martin, said: “Having begun the roll-out of Gateway to clients, we’ve already seen the value it can bring to our clients’ operations. One automotive client now benefits from complete real-time visibility over their dealer deliveries, allowing them to check shipment information pre-8am, so they can plan their work for the day ahead. They can also track and consolidate returns, saving them both time and money.

“Providing all the flexibility and transparency our clients need, Gateway gives them the ability to take control of their logistics; enhancing their operations and wider aftermarket proposition, all for the benefit of the end-customer.”

Carousel CTOO, Thomas Griese, said: “In this hyper-connected age of manufacturing, organisations simply cannot rely on out of date, traditional systems that don’t flex to the growing expectations of their customers. Gateway is our proprietary platform designed to meet those needs, mirroring the technical components required for Industry 4.0 and beyond. As a powerful engine it streamlines processes and brings operational efficiencies that helps businesses to scale. It’s only by harnessing technology like this that organisations will survive and thrive in the years ahead.”
