Tromsø-based maritime digital software service provider Dualog has appointed a new Sales Manager to work within its growing Greek market.

Dualog has been steadily expanding its presence throughout the southern Mediterranean region and is delighted that Kalliope Economou has taken up the role.

Ms Economou, who has recently joined the company, has more than 25 years of shipping experience and will be responsible for further developing Dualog’s presence in this important Greek market.

Welcoming the appointment, Morten Lind-Olsen, CEO of Dualog, said: “Over the past few years we have found an accelerating demand for digital solutions among the Greek shipping owners who are embracing the opportunities provided by new technologies. The increase in available bandwidth has improved the feasibility of adopting an ever-increasing range of smart technology solutions and our customer base here has now reached the point where we want to provide a local support system.”

For Kalliope herself, the move to Dualog allows her to work within an organisation that combines her passion for shipping and her love of technology. “In terms of fleet capacity, Greek shipping is one of the biggest markets in the world. As such, it warrants the benefits of having a Greek speaker providing ‘on-the-ground support’ as Dualog implements smart technology solutions across the world’s fleets.

“I am eager to demonstrate the many opportunities afforded by improved ship to shore communications and work to encourage ship owners to adopt them,” she said.

“Kalliope brings with her a wealth of experience in both the technical side of the business and also in the development of enduring relationships. Her skills make her eminently suited to providing the quality of support our Greek clients deserve while introducing the Dualog range of products to potential new customers,” concluded Mr Lind-Olsen.
