DVSA To Provide Earned Recognition Update At Microlise Transport Conference.

15 January, 20

Caroline Hicks, Head of the National Enforcement Group at DVSA, will speak at the Microlise Transport Conference in May, providing a critical update on the Earned Recognition scheme, and outlining how it enables DVSA to target major cases of serial non-compliance amongst operators.

Earned Recognition was first introduced in 2018 and is designed as a way to prove fleet operators meet driver and vehicle standards, by regularly sharing performance information with DVSA. As a result, vehicles are less likely to be stopped for inspections.

In her conference presentation, Caroline Hicks will outline the progress made so far as regards Earned Recognition, DVSA’s plans for the future, and will discuss how the scheme is being used as an enabler to more effectively target non-compliant operators.

The Microlise Transport Conference will take place on the 20th May at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry, a centrally located venue, renowned as one of the UK’s top event destinations.

Now the largest event of its kind, with 1,200 delegates attending each year, the free-to-attend Microlise Transport Conference is recognised as the industry’s premier conference, featuring an outstanding line-up of speakers, four workshop programmes and an exhibition area for leading industry bodies and suppliers.

“Earned Recognition has been adopted by many across the industry since it was introduced, and is proving to be very effective both in terms of reducing stops for approved operators and supporting our efforts to target the seriously and serially non-compliant,” commented Hicks. “The Microlise Transport Conference offers a perfect opportunity to update the industry at large on the scheme, providing details of how it will continue to grow and develop.
“Ensuring all operators are compliant with standards is a core focus for DVSA, as those that are non-compliant pose a serious risk to their staff, road users and the public.”

Hosted by journalist, lobbyist and presenter Quentin Willson, the Microlise Transport Conference agenda will feature a range of industry leaders and subject matter experts, covering both the issues of today and the trends that will shape the future of road transport. The conference will also give delegates direct access to four workshop programmes and an extensive exhibition area.

“We’re delighted Caroline and DVSA will be joining us as part of our 2020 event,” commented Nadeem Raza, Chief Executive Officer of Microlise. “Earned Recognition is an essential tool in ensuring operators of HGV fleets are compliant to UK standards and we look forward to hearing how the scheme is progressing and will develop in the future. It will certainly be of great interest to delegates, who stand to benefit by ensuring non-compliant operators are targeted and dealt with in the appropriate way.”
