Europa Worldwide Group, the UK’s largest independent freight forwarder, has today announced the appointment of a new Group Recruitment and Talent Manager, and Deputy Head of Property and Facilities.

Vanita Dass-Puri is promoted to the position of Group Recruitment and Talent Manager, whilst Nicola Laidlaw-Rolph is promoted to Deputy Head of Property and Facilities.

Europa Worldwide Group is a specialist road, air & sea and warehouse operator, with a £180m turnover which employs 900 staff across 16 sites in the UK, plus Belgium and Hong Kong.

The promotions come as Europa continues to expand rapidly. Organic volume growth across the business is running at 20 per cent and its presence in the market is stronger than ever before.

Since joining Europa as Internal Recruitment & Acquisition Manager in September 2017, Vanita Dass-Puri has played a vital role in recruiting excellent staff members for Europa. Going forward, Vanita will head up and oversee all of Europa Worldwide Group’s internal recruitment strategy. Part of her role will be to grow the recruitment team to deliver a best in class function.

She will also continue to help drive forward Europa’s Rapid Career Development Programme, which provides a serious alternative to university for bright and passionate young people. Vanita has more than 12 years’ experience in recruitment, having previously worked in the retail sector.

As Deputy Head of Property and Facilities, Nicola Laidlaw-Rolph, will lead and facilitate facilities management solutions across Europa’s large estate. She will travel across warehouse sites, ensuring unification as well as overseeing health and safety compliance. This will include Europa’s state-of-the-art, £30million headquarters, 1Hub, which celebrated its 4th birthday earlier this month (June). Nicola joined Europa in 2012 as Procurement Manager, later taking on increased responsibility as Procurement and Facilities Manager in 2014.

Rob Ross, Finance Director at Europa Worldwide Group comments: “We are delighted to announce the promotions of Vanita Dass-Puri and Nicola Laidlaw-Rolph. Both are an integral part of the team. Their promotions reflect true dedication to Europa Worldwide Group and demonstrate our own commitment to investing in people, developing in-house talent and encouraging progression through the organisation.”

He continues: “Now is an exciting time for Europa Worldwide Group as we continue to grow and expand the business. As a company, we are determined to challenge and lead the logistics sector to address common issues including high turnover rates, employee satisfaction levels and skills shortages. Vanita will lead Europa’s recruitment strategy to bring on board the very best.”

Rob Ross adds: “Responsible for important lease and contract negotiations, Nicola will also play a pivotal role in Europa’s growth programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.”

Vanita Dass-Puri, Group Recruitment and Talent Manager says: “I am really excited about my new role at Europa, leading the recruitment strategy and growing my team. I relish providing an excellent and efficient recruitment service to Europa and candidates who express an interest in joining our business, based on quality and speed. Finding the right candidate for a role, and indeed the right role for a potential candidate, is the key to success.”

Nicola Laidlaw-Rolph, Deputy Head of Property and Facilities says: “My new role is incredibly exciting. I am looking forward to greater responsibility, travelling across Europa’s sites and working with new people. I enjoy managing teams and working with like-minded, creative colleagues at Europa. I am determined to lead my team to future success by ensuring an effective and efficient property portfolio in a challenging economic climate.”
