E-commerce fulfilment specialist, James and James Fulfilment (https://www.ecommercefulfilment.com/) , has joined the 22nd annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 (http://www.fasttrack.co.uk/league-tables/fast-track-100/) – a league table, published this weekend (Sunday 2 December), that ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales.

Northampton-headquartered James and James picks, packs and ships orders for hundreds of eCommerce retailers. It was ranked number 83 on the list, thanks to 50% annual sales growth over the last three years. 2017 saw the company reach 100 team members and £8.9 million in sales.

The company was founded by University of Cambridge graduates, James Hyde and James Strachan, in 2010, when they could not find a satisfactory fulfilment service for an eCommerce business they were working for. Developing unique cloud-based software, to replace the inefficient, paper-based systems of traditional warehouses, the company quickly attracted online stores to its service, winning a 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the field of Innovation.

Commenting on the latest accolade, James Hyde, CEO, said: “We focus on developing technology and processes that help online retailers improve their operations and delight their customers. This helps them to grow faster than the wider eCommerce market – and helps us to grow with them. Joining the Fast Track 100 is a real testament to the success of this approach.”

James and James Fulfilment was one of just three logistics firms to make the list, alongside Manchester’s ITD Global and Wolverhampton’s Pallet-Track. Retailers that made the cut include Character.com, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, Grenade, Gymshark, Lusso Stone, Velocity Outlet and WED2B.

Peter Cowley – the Cambridge-based entrepreneur and angel investor, who took a stake in James and James Fulfilment in 2013 and now chairs its board – commented: “Securing a spot on the Fast Track 100 has long been a badge of honour for disruptive companies, with many going on to become household names. As such, James and James’s inclusion on the list this year reflects both its achievements to date and the many exciting developments that are yet to come.”

Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Group, which has supported Fast Track 100 for all 22 years, added: “Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of UK business and have always been the beating heart of positive change. In a climate of uncertainty, it’s more important than ever to recognise those entrepreneurs, like those of this year’s Fast Track 100, who are making the world a better place for everybody.”

The full league table is published on 2 December as a 10-page supplement in the business section of The Sunday Times, both in print and in the digital edition.
