With the government announcing its target to reduce vehicle emissions by 15% by 2025, the Freight Transport Association (FTA), the only business group representing all of logistics, will be holding a conference in central London to give operators the opportunity to understand where the government is heading and how they can put infrastructure and fleet changes in place to achieve it.

The Realities of Going Green conference, to be held in central London on 29 November, will examine the options – electric, gas power and hydrogen powered fuel cells – and through a unique blend of expert speakers and case studies give operators an insight into the realities of adopting each fuel type.

Delegates will be able to learn from people who have practical experience of using different fuels and understand the implications and challenges of changing fuel sources, enabling them to develop informed and sustainable strategies for changing their own fleet.

Christopher Snelling , FTA’s Head of UK Policy, said:

“The government has set an aggressive target of rapidly reducing emissions from road transport by 15%, and there are many ways in which this can be achieved. This conference will outline the thinking behind the government’s strategy, the implications for vehicle operators and the solutions they can implement to achieve the government targets. We will be examining all the possibilities, and through a mixture of speakers and case studies give operators an insight into the realities of adopting each of these options. The syndicate groups will give them the chance to discuss these with their peers and take away sound reasoning to base their strategies upon.”

The price to attend for FTA members is £295 + VAT for the first delegate and £265 + VAT for subsequent delegates. The price for non-members is £395 + VAT for the first delegate and £365 + VAT for subsequent delegates. For further information or to book a place

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc.  A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
