The largest and most influential business organisation in the logistics sector, The Freight Transport Association (FTA), has announced its Van Excellence scheme is supporting Fleet Live 2018, the UK’s leading event for the fleet management community, to share its message on raising van operating standards.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham between 9 and 10 October 2018, the two-day fleet management conference will enable Van Excellence – an industry-led scheme promoting the safe, sustainable and efficient operation of vans – to reach over 2,000 members of the fleet community through two speaker sessions and an exhibition stand.

Mark Cartwright Head of Vans and Light Commercial Vehicles comments:

“With so many changes taking place in the vans market, it is vital FTA keeps operators abreast of the latest compliance and operational issues which are covered by the Van Excellence scheme. Fleet Live gives us the chance to talk directly to van operators, answering their questions and ensuring that they can work to the highest possible standards – as well as showcasing the latest initiatives which we hope will make their operations run even more smoothly.”

Chris Lester, Event Director of Fleet Live commented:

“We’re delighted Van Excellence has chosen to support Fleet Live 2018, the UK’s biggest and most influential exhibition and conference for the fleet sector. It is important van operators are up to speed with the latest compliance and operational issues and the Van Excellence, through its pioneering work to raise safety and efficiency standards, is perfectly placed to offer our visitors advice and support. We advise all van operators attending Fleet Live to pay them a visit.”

The Van Excellence exhibition stand will be situated in the Commercial Fleet Zone and speaker sessions will take place on Tuesday 11.00am and Wednesday at 2.00pm.

The Van Excellence scheme recognises van operator excellence and aims improve operational standards through several initiatives, including its Code of Practice, Van Excellence Operator Accreditation Scheme, training courses and Van Driver of the Year competition.

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc.  A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
