IPP Signs Deal Not To Be Sneezed At Coventry Firm Signs Sole UK Supply Distribution Deal With Leicester Tissue Company.

A Midlands tissue firm with customers in more than 27 countries has signed a sole supply deal with one of Europe’s leading poolers of sustainable wooden pallets, to deliver its products into UK supermarkets and High Street stores.

Leicester Tissue Company (LTC) turned to Coventry-based IPP to deliver more than 170,000 pallets a year into the Co-op, Poundland, Poundstretcher, Wilko and Aldi.

Based in Thurmaston, north of Leicester, the company is run by Amin Tejani and his family and specialises in paper making and converting paper reels into a variety of tissue-based products.

LTC also invests in technology to keep energy and power consumption to a minimum, with an ongoing commitment to making all products from sustainable sources, which aligns with IPP’s own green schemes, including the reduction of more than one million miles of empty running on the UK’s roads.

Phil Storer, UK Director for IPP, said

: “We’ve previously worked with LTC as an overflow producer for another IPP customer and we’re delighted to welcome them on board on a sole supply deal.

“LTC’s switch to us was based on service and quality, which is a heartening endorsement of the way we like to do business.”

The two companies are now set to collaborate on a carbon reduction project, which will see approximately 23,500 miles and 54,000 tonnes of CO2 saved within year one of the contract.

IPP collaborates with many of its retail customers to eradicate empty running legs in its supply chains, as part of its broader contribution to the circular economy.

“Over the course of the contract with LTC, we will see 70,500 miles and 162 tonnes of CO2 saved,”

added Phil.

Usman Yasin, supply chain manager at the Leicester Tissue Company, said:

“Doing business in an open, communicative and sustainable way is very important to us and we are delighted to entrust IPP with our full UK pallet supply.

“We see being part of a structured account management system as a real benefit, to help control the balances and build a partnership moving forward.”
