Isuzus Handle The Heavier Equipment For Boels Rental With Ease.

28 August, 19

Back in 2018 when Boels Rental expanded its product range to incorporate much heavier products, the national equipment and tool hire company took delivery of its first ever batch of Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigids to accommodate their changing customer collection and delivery requirements.

Six Isuzu N75.190 (E) rigids, specified with beavertail bodies, went into service at the back end of last year, and such has been the success of these initial vehicles that Boels Rental has just recently taken delivery of a further five Isuzu 7.5 tonners, built to an identical specification, featuring Beavertail bodies once again and also supported by a five year R&M deal.

“Changing our product portfolio meant that we needed larger GVW trucks for the heavier equipment. After conducting an extensive review of the market, we felt that the Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigid had the best reputation for payload and reliability. The first six Isuzus went into service and we have been rewarded with excellent reliability, superb payload capacity and, as a bonus, we have found that the fuel efficiency has been significantly better than expected,” said Jim Field, commercial director, Boels Rental.

All eleven of the Isuzu N75.190 (E) rigids have been supplied by local Isuzu Truck dealer Warrington Vehicle Centre and the vehicles are expected to have a seven-year working life, with each one covering approximately 35,000 miles per annum.

As the Boels Rental expansion programme continues to grow, the company has placed a further order for an additional two Isuzu 7.5 tonners for delivery later in the year. The Isuzus tend to be based at the larger superstore depots operated by Boels Rental. These sites generally have a larger concentration of heavy mobile equipment, such as access machines, excavators and dumpers, that require loading and unloading from the beavertailed bodied trucks.

Boels Rental, founded in 1977, is one of the most renowned hire companies in Europe for the hire of tools, access and construction equipment, accommodation units, catering and event equipment. The family business, founded by Pierre Boels, is one of the fastest growing hire companies with 38 branches in the UK and over 400 branches spread across Europe.

“As a relatively new addition to the Isuzu family, Boels Rental quickly benefited from the payload and reliability that has been associated with the Isuzu 7.5 tonne range for many years now. This relationship between Boels Rental and ourselves will continue to grow and prosper as they increase the Isuzu representation in their delivery fleet,” said Jon Corcoran, fleet sales manager, Isuzu Truck UK.
