Liverpool-based industrial load system specialists, Joloda International, has acquired the service division of Sovex for an undisclosed sum, creating Joloda Conveyor Services and becoming one of the largest aftercare providers for conveyor and materials handling products in the UK.

As an established player in the design and manufacture of specialist loading systems, the next phase of Joloda International’s growth strategy was to expand its service and maintenance capabilities and enhance the aftersales service for its customers.

The acquisition expands the team of engineers, who will provide planned preventative maintenance, on-demand callouts and spare parts to more than 400 customers nationwide – including some of the largest warehouse and distribution facilities in the country.

Sovex has been manufacturing loading and unloading modules and components since 2002 and was itself taken over by German conveyor specialists Transnorm Group in 2015. When Transnorm set out to find a way to facilitate improved maintenance and servicing across Sovex’s UK network, Joloda International provided the ideal solution.

Michele Dematteis, Chief Executive Officer at Joloda International, says: “I am delighted that Joloda has been able to make this acquisition. Sovex is extremely well regarded in the industry and that is what made this deal so appealing.

“Our expanded service and maintenance division brings together two of the very best service teams in the business, allowing us to provide customers of both firms with exceptional aftersales care. Sovex, Transnorm and Joloda all share the same goal, to provide our customers with the best service possible – we’re looking forward to building on this relationship to ensure that we are able to do that.”

Existing Joloda and Sovex customers will now benefit from Joloda Conveyor Services’ expanded capabilities, offering faster response times thanks to the team’s increased footprint, improved technical knowledge and experience from the company’s combined team of engineers.

Sovex’s sales and manufacturing arm will continue to focus its resources on the development of its telescopic boom conveyor products in the UK and Europe, handing over all aftersales care to Joloda Conveyor Services.

All existing service and maintenance staff within Sovex have transitioned across to the new business.
