20 November, 19

This year’s record-breaking FTA Transport Manager conference series was in Doncaster this week, and with the final two events due to take place next week in Coventry and Chepstow, anyone wishing to attend is advised to book as soon as possible as this year’s highly successful series nears its end. The conferences, sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres, have broken all previous attendance records, with over 1,500 bookings having been taken so far.

Carlie Nowell, FTA’s Head of Events, said,

“These conferences provide the ideal opportunity for transport managers to keep their professional knowledge up to date and hear direct from the Traffic Commissioners and leading industry experts on the latest issues affecting their operation. Over 1,500 people have already realised the benefit of attending this year’s conferences, but there are still a few places left at the remaining two events for anyone wishing to come along.”

The series of 11 conferences, which is also sponsored by Schmitz Cargobull and Brigade Electronics, includes an essential legislation round-up and technical update on the main topics that vehicle operators need to be aware of to ensure the safety, compliance and efficiency of their organisation.

There’s an address by the local Traffic Commissioner at each venue on their priorities for the year ahead, as well as sessions covering tyres, technology and how to significantly reduce your fuel budget; brake testing, trailer developments, The Mobility Package, Brexit, drivers’ employment status, urban restrictions; drivers’ employment status; and vehicle terrorism threat and safety advice from the National Counter Terrorism Police.

Places are still available for the final two conferences which take place next week in Coventry on 26 November and in Chepstow on 28 November. For further information or to book a place go to Click Here or call FTA Customer Services on 03717 11 22 22.

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc. A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
