The world’s leading logistics trade fair Transport Logistic was held in Munich, Germany June 4 to 7. For the first time in the 40 years the trade fair has been organized, this year’s event featured the start.hub Logistic start-up area and competition. The contest was won by the Finnish monitoring technology company Logmore Ltd.

Transport Logistic is one of the most established logistics trade fairs in the world. With over 40 years of experience in Munich, Germany, the event was attended by 64 000 visitors from 125 countries this year and over 2500 companies participated as exhibitors.

The start.hub Logistic platform is a new concept in the 40-year-old trade fair. The objective of the new concept is to bring together interesting and innovative logistics industry start-up ideas. The concept included a bar for connecting with the participant start-ups, a stage for daily start-up pitches as well as presentations and interviews, and the “blue sofa”, a place for interviews with important industry players hosted by the DVZ (Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung).

The Transport Logistic specialist jury chose 17 start-ups to participate in the start-up contest. The contest was divided into three rounds of pitching and voting. Of the eight companies that made it to the second round, Logmore was the only non-German company. The other contestants were the German start-ups CargoSteps, Dizzbo, Evertracker, Forward, IMPARGO, Sirum and TankContainerFinder. Evertracker, Forward and IMPARGO made it to the finals along with Logmore.

The winner, Logmore, is a Finnish start-up company founded in 2017. With the first solution in the world to suit end-to-end monitoring, the company’s mission is to minimize waste and spoilage on a global scale by providing effortless monitoring services, designed particularly for food and pharmaceutical industries.
