London International Shipping Week 2019 (LISW19) has streamlined the experience for international visitors attending this year’s event by launching a new, interactive app and unveiling its newly-revamped website.

The freshly designed ‘LISW19’ app provides visitors with all the information they need to make the most of this year’s must-attend event, including features to help them plan their day, register for events, network with other delegates, access the event guide and make online bookings. The app, which is available via the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, also has a new ‘help’ function to assist delegates in real time during the LISW19 week.

Meanwhile, all the latest details about LISW19’s sponsors, supporting organisations and latest news are now online on the dedicated LISW website, together with comprehensive listings for the estimated 200 events due to take place during the week. Delegates can also book sought-after LISW19 Conference and Gala Dinner tickets via both the app and the website.

This September sees the fourth running of this high-profile event which showcases the importance of London as an international hub for shipping industry finance, investment, insurance, broking, trading, marine law, arbitration, and international regulation. LISW also encompasses the wider global shipping industry and is now recognised as a place to do business, discuss business and develop business.

LISW is delivered by Shipping Innovation, Maritime UK and the UK Government’s Department for Transport, working closely with the Department for International Trade, the Scottish and Welsh Governments, as well as the Royal Navy, the Maritime & Coastguard Agency and the UK Ship Register. There are more than 152 global maritime organisations involved, in addition to leading city firms in the legal, insurance, finance and trade sectors.

Sean Moloney, Director of Shipping Innovation, said: “We have responded to visitor feedback to enhance our information provision and streamline our processes, making LISW19 an even more beneficial business experience for the large numbers of top level decision makers who are expected to visit LISW19 this September.”

Taking place post-Brexit, LISW19’s overarching theme is: International Trade in a Changing World, with three sub-themes of Growing, Innovating and Partnering.

The new website and dedicated event app are valuable resources for the 18,000 to 20,000 delegates who are expected to attend LISW19, representing more than 50 nationalities, as well as the 1,000 guests expected at the official Gala Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane on Thursday September 12th.

The LISW website is a popular resource for attendees – in 2017 it attracted 75,000 unique visitors and more than 22,000 page views during the week.
