Lord Mountevans, Chairman of the London International Shipping Week Board of Advisors, was last night honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the presentation ceremony for the 31st Seatrade Awards, which took place at London’s magnificent Guildhall.
Lord Mountevans, who is also Chairman of Maritime London and President of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, was presented with the award by Chris Hayman, Chairman, Seatrade, in front of nearly 250 guests .
Mr Hayman said: “Our Lifetime Achievement Award winner this evening has been involved with the shipping industry and in the governance of the City of London. In linking these two roles, he has become a thought leader for the industry in this country.”
Thanking his hosts, Lord Mountevans said he felt privileged to have worked with the many colleagues he has had in this industry. He also paid respect to the global role that London and the UK plays in the wider maritime sector.
“We have a great agenda to drive the maritime industry in this country. We are very determined to maintain the UK as a great place to conduct maritime business. The focus at the moment is London International Shipping Week and we are looking forward to delivering an event that is bigger and better than before,” he told the assembled guests.
