20 November, 19

For the second consecutive year, Maritime Transport Ltd. (Maritime) has been named winner of the ‘Road Haulier of the Year’ category by its customers and readers of Lloyd’s Loading List during the freight publication’s Global Freight Awards last week.

The Global Freight Awards, held this year at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel on 14th November, is a prestigious annual ceremony which recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors of freight. Managing Director of Container Transport Tom Williams was presented with the accolade by Simon Beechener, Managing Director of Simpex.

Maritime’s award of the Road Haulier of the Year category acknowledges the company’s outstanding quality of service and industry-leading solutions it continues to provide, as well as its recent investments and asset acquisitions, including new vehicles, trailers, and container lifting equipment to extend its customer-offering and capabilities.

This award comes just weeks after Maritime’s Group Executive Chairman John Williams and his father, Tommy, were honoured with FTA Lifetime Achievement Awards, recognising their dedication and extensive contribution to the logistics industry.

Commenting on their latest win, Tom Williams, Managing Director of Container Transport stated:

‘This award recognises the hard work, commitment, and dedication our drivers and office-based staff put into their roles to make Maritime what it is today. We are exceptionally proud to have such a fantastic workforce delivering the best in class service and added value to our customers – our people are, and always will be, our greatest asset. I’d like to thank our customers and readers for their kind acknowledgments; we’ve had a great year and look forward to future success.’

Maritime was shortlisted alongside five other hauliers for the Road Haulier of the Year award, sponsored by Simpex.
