Maritime Transport Efficiency Conference Postponed To 5-6 October.

The Maritime Transport Efficiency Conference (MTEC), originally scheduled to take place in Geneva in May, is rescheduled for 5 and 6 October 2020.

“There was simply no alternative,” said Bernard Schopfer, the organiser of the event. “The health of our participants is an absolute priority. We also want our event to be successful, and to reassemble key personalities from the shipping industry worldwide. People can currently not travel; they mustn’t congregate. The decision was therefore quite obvious!”

The purpose of MTEC is to bring together the actors involved in research, innovation and technological development, and the main players of the maritime transport industry, in order to create a positive dynamic around sustainability issues, encourage and promote developments aimed at improving the environmental balance sheet and reducing operating costs.

“All the participants in our conference, our partners, exhibitors and speakers reacted positively to this announcement and confirmed their support. We are very grateful to them,”

said Inna Maltseva, Head of Partnerships for the event.

The format planned for May is confirmed, and simply postponed to October. The event will consist of two days of topical presentations and panel discussions on alternative ships propulsion systems, electric vessels, future marine fuels, operational efficiency, compliance and legislation, interspersed with lunch and coffee breaks to allow delegates from all over the world to visit the exhibition space, network and do business in a charming and business-friendly setting, alongside Lake Geneva.

Monday evening’s reception, scheduled to take place cruising on board a vintage steamer from the local shipping company CGN is also confirmed, as is the support of the Geneva authorities and the event’s lead partner MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, a global leader in transport and logistics, headquartered in Geneva.

“We have received many messages of encouragement and we would like to thank all those who support us and believe in the future success of this conference for their professional and friendly support. We are all the more determined to organize an even better event this October,”

concluded Schopfer.
