No Moans About LEZs With Mone Brothers’ Latest Isuzu.

15 May, 19

Following the success of its first Isuzu 7.5t rigid, which went into the fleet 18 months ago, Mone Bros, one of the UK’s leading aggregate recycling specialists, has now taken delivery of a second Isuzu 7.5 tonne tipper. With its striking and distinctive livery, the bespoke tipper has been supplied by local Isuzu Truck dealer Cartwright Fleet Services (CFS), based in Garforth, Leeds.

Delivering loose and bagged aggregates to trade and public customers around Leeds and Yorkshire, the Isuzu N75.150 rigid will follow Mone Bros’ standard procedures by operating on a three-year work cycle, covering approximately 40,000 miles per annum, running six days a week.

Explaining the reasons behind the purchase of a second Isuzu Truck, Phil Mone from Mone Bros said, “With the imminent introduction of the low emission zone (LEZ) charge in Leeds from January 2020, the timing was just right for us to add this second Isuzu Euro VI 7.5 tonner to our Leeds operation, as it meets all the required criteria of the forthcoming LEZ.”

Phil continues, “We also opted for the manual gearbox version, together with the lighter 150 hp power unit, as this gives us an amazing payload of almost 4 tonnes. In addition, we do a considerable amount of home deliveries, so the smaller, more compact footprint of the Isuzu is ideal for deliveries where we need to access household driveways.”

CFS in Leeds supplied the Isuzu 7.5 tonne N75.150 bespoke tipper, and as Phil Mone says, “We had absolutely fantastic service from CFS throughout the vehicle acquisition programme. If the first Isuzu is anything to go by, we anticipate little or no problems, in terms of reliability, with the second one. In fact, already the initial fuel consumption for the second Isuzu is proving to be really good. We also operate on a one man per vehicle journey plan, and the driver of this new Isuzu has told me he is really happy with his vehicle, in terms of drivability and the overall feel and comfort of the cab.”

Established in 1965, Mone Bros has become one of the North of England’s largest suppliers of recycled and primary aggregates and plant hire equipment to the construction industry. While still a family-run business, today Mone Bros now employs over 70 skilled operational and managerial staff, offering a diverse range of products and services.

“Mone Bros are a well-established operator working in quite arduous and demanding conditions. This is where the Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigid comes into its own in being able to provide such operators with total reliability and operational flexibility, combined with Isuzu’s legendary payload capability,” said Bob Docherty, Network Business Manager, Isuzu Truck UK.
