Prohire Supplies Exhibition Vehicles To Glow-Worm.

Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management company, Prohire Limited has supplied two mobile exhibition vehicles to heating system and boiler manufacturer, Glow-worm. The vehicles, built on Vauxhall Movano 3.5t Platform cabs are the result of a design collaboration between Prohire, Glow-worm and specialist bodybuilder, Neat Vehicles. They have been supplied on contract hire with Prohire, which includes the full maintenance of both the vehicle and the key ancillary components within the exhibition body.

The bespoke specification had to enable any member of the Glow-worm sales team to drive the exhibition vehicles on a roadshow basis to heating, plumbing and builders’ merchants. Once the vehicle is on site, a powered up / down front canopy reveals a top quality interior with high specification lighting, an integrated air conditioning unit, seating, display TV and panels, an I-Pad, refrigerator and coffee machine, providing a hospitable space to showcase a range of central heating boiler units and demonstrate ease of installation and maintenance to heating engineers.

A challenge for the design team was the need to deliver the required quality interior and product range, while working within a 3.5t maximum gross vehicle weight. The choice of cabs enabled a low access body and the desired payload to give Glow-worm the ability to house the required number of display boilers and ancillary equipment, while delivering a strong brand image. All the equipment can either be powered by an on-board generator or powered directly by mains electricity should a power supply be available.

Regular design review meetings were held between the Glow-worm Marketing Campaign Manager, the Group Commodity Buyer and the teams at Prohire and Neat during the design and build process to ensure that the ultimate look and feel of the internal and external build quality reflected the desired finish.

Commenting on the result, Jonathan Cluskey Glow-worm’s Marketing Campaign Manager said that the company was extremely happy with the two vehicles. “The build quality and finish is exactly what we needed to reflect the Glow-worm brand and the capacity and equipment specification enables the team to do all that they need to do to show our range of product off to prospective trade customers.”

Andrew Morley, Group Sales Director at Prohire added,

“Prohire is particularly effective meeting customer needs which are specialised and bespoke, with its consultative approach. This was a very exciting sales opportunity as there were so many different criteria to meet. I am delighted that Glow-worm has the vehicles it wanted and Prohire looks forward to keeping them on the road and in top condition.”

Prohire supplies commercial vehicles and full fleet support services to a wide range of business sectors including foodservice and catering, temperature-controlled, builders’ merchants, leisure retail and the brewing industry as well as to specialist logistics companies.
