Wincanton has received the highly regarded Achilles accreditation after a successful audit.

This accreditation means Wincanton is an approved supplier on the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database. UK-based utilities companies use this to find proven suppliers for large tenders.

The audit assessed Wincanton’s depot in Wigan, which is one of the company’s centres for its Water Services operation. It took a wide range of areas into account, including health and safety, management systems, compliance and quality control.

Jonathan Shortis, Director of Energy at Wincanton, said:

“Being recognised by Achilles demonstrates Wincanton’s excellence in the utilities space, especially within its Water Services offering.

“It will put us in a strong position to further grow our Water Services business and is proof of our expertise in this important market.

“We’re delighted to have scored so highly for health and safety and quality control, which are key priorities for our business.”
