Yusen Logistics Benelux has opened a new state-of-the-art logistics centre in Moerdijk, The Netherlands. The newly built multi-customer warehouse offers a storage capacity of 30,000 m², accessible via 30 loading docks, along with 900 m² of office facilities. The new flagship facility in Moerdijk will also be designated as Yusen Logistics Benelux’s new headquarters and will so replace the current headquarters in Ridderkerk.

The Moerdijk logistics site is strategically located in the Industrial Park ‘Port of Moerdijk’, West-Brabant, the fourth and furthest inland-located seaport in The Netherlands. The location offers excellent connections with the deep-sea ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, the airports of Schiphol (Amsterdam) and Brussels-Zaventem (Brussels), as well as extensive forwarding options to European inland destinations.

Fully in line with Yusen Logistics’ Environmental Green Policy and culture of Kaizen, the facility has been built to the highest standards in terms of sustainability, efficiency and safety. The safety level of the bonded warehouse is in accordance with the Transported Asset Protection Association B (TAPA-B) requirements. Best-in-class construction techniques and high-tech heating and lighting systems, including heat recovery and heat pump systems, solar panels and LED-lighting, result in the building running almost energy-neutral.

Bruno Jacques, Managing Director of Yusen Logistics Benelux & Nordics, commented: ‘’The opening of this new warehouse in Moerdijk underlines our strong commitment to provide outstanding logistics services to our customers. We recognise the tremendous growth potential in the Benelux and situating our operations in the Moerdijk district is the ideal choice to drive growth for our customers and significantly contribute to the efficiency of their value chain. Moerdijk is situated in the center of two of the most important European sea ports, Rotterdam and Antwerp, and the airports of Amsterdam and Brussels, enabling us to provide both our local and international customers with the opportunity to also use our Customs and Freight forwarding services next to our extensive warehousing and road transport services’’.

In the short term, Yusen Logistics Benelux will move into their new headquarters and welcome their launching customer at the Moerdijk site. For this customer, a large part of the warehouse will be reserved.
