Second wave of recruits announced for logistics career scheme

10 May, 21

As part of its RAPID Career Development Programme, leading logistics firm Europa Worldwide Group is extending opportunities for graduates and school-leavers by announcing a second intake of applications this year.

It follows the 2021 re-launch of the programme, which gives candidates the chance to become part of its Europa Road sales team and become a Trainee Road Account Manager. This year, Europa has already taken on 13 successful candidates, who started in April 2021 working across Europa Road’s 13 branches.

Now, following its success and at a crucial decision making time for gradates, Europa has announced a second intake. The process of video screening and first and second stage interviews will begin from June with successful applicants starting to work within the business from September 2021.
Europa’s Early Career Talent Manager, Lana Jay, is speaking to schools and universities across the country to encourage pupils to consider logistics as a career choice and share information about the opportunities available as part of Europa’s RAPID Career Development Programme.

Lana comments: “The calibre of candidates, specifically graduates, has been exceptionally high this year and we now have a confident group of RAPIDs in place across Europa’s network of Road branches. We’re now looking at our future talent pipeline and adding a second intake to start in September will allow us to capture the attention of graduates and school-leavers who are currently reviewing potential career choices.”

To share the news, Lana will be using multiple avenues to reach the younger career hungry audience, from speaking at virtual assemblies throughout the Summer, to advertising on online job boards of schools and universities and attending national Job Fairs.

All successful applicants will have a starting salary of £22,500, benefits including a company car and the chance to earn extra commission after just a few months. Applications can be made via the Europa website.

Lana continues: “For Europa it’s all about finding candidates who are the right fit for the business – we’re looking for graduates and school-leavers who are passionate about starting a career in sales, self-motivated, charismatic, energetic and enthusiastic.”

Europa Worldwide Group is a specialist road, air & sea and warehouse operator, with a £205m turnover which employs over 1,000 staff across 16 sites in the UK, plus Belgium and Hong Kong.
The initiative is the brainchild of Europa’s Managing Director Andrew Baxter, designed to appeal to highly ambitious and focused individuals who are keen to earn and learn, hit the ground running and progress up the sales career ladder from as early as 18-years-old.

Europa’s own management team can tell some inspiring success stories of starting at a junior level and working their way up to Director level, moving roles internally and progressing and developing gradually through the business.
